Benefits of Care

Jennifer Gibson, RN, HCS-D, COS-C, is currently the Senior Clinical Specialist at Axxess in Dallas, TX, but prior to this, much of her career was spent as a home health nurse. She cites the experience of watching a large, extended family care for her grandmother as an event that influenced her decision to enter the home health arena, seeing first-hand how a senior loved one benefited from receiving care at home.

Honoring a senior loved one’s wishes to age at home is now easier than ever, thanks to a growing home care industry that can provide everything from companion care, to skilled nursing care, to end of life hospice care. Unfortunately, though, many consumers, and even referral services like hospitals and physicians, are not familiar with the industry, and do not look to home care as an option for older adults. Gibson works to help educate consumers on choosing in home care services.
